That’s a wrap on our magical Disney cruise 2021! For someone who lives so far from the sea to live ON the sea was better than I could ever imagine.

Highlights were my girl making slime with Stitch, cast members saluting my boy all day, Stephen barking like a dog so we could win a family game show and him screaming when the man said “looked shocked” at the Rapunzel lantern.

Bit of a weird post. I’m at a crossroads in my life. I’m well past the baby and toddler years. Today my girl is at a sleepover. My boy has gone to the cinema (in a purple velvet cape as a sidenote. God I love him).

I’m 43. And starting to find out what it is to be me. A lot has changed. Pre kids it was boozing and dancing. And a decade has passed and I’m like “what do I even like anymore?”. I’m not needed to change nappies. Nights are disruption free. I have a bit more time. But who the hell am I and what do I do with it? So I’m doing little things for me.

This is the weird bit. Stephen put up a rail in our office. And here I can hang outfits I like. With shoes and bags. So I’ve been putting some Disney outfits together. With some music on. And a cuppa. It feels almost naughty to be focusing on my needs. Even if that includes Minnie Ears and midi skirts.

... @disneyonice is back! You lot will know we've been going to Disney on Ice since my two were tiny and it's become a family tradition. 'Disney On Ice presents Find Your Hero' is travelling around the UK from Oct 28th to Jan 2nd. It's a great way for your kids (and you!) to see your favourite Disney characters. Dancing on ice to your favourite Disney songs. I can confirm I have a little cry at the magic each time!

My boy wanted a Disney bedroom makeover. And of course this is MY DREAM! So I’ve been squirrelling away bits and bobs and today whilst he was at school I redecorated. I knew he wanted lots of Mickey so I popped up some decals and dug out some of his old toys.

I also wanted a fun Toy Story element so I dotted some hidden wall stickers all around the room. Next set up his window as if all his characters were off on an adventure. We’ve got bunting (thanks @helpfulmum), books and memories from all our adventures to Disney.

(AD For My Own Lovely Stuff!) Just a woman. Who went out in Minnie Ears, polka dots and GIANT heart glasses to take photos of her beautiful @brummymummymugs bits and bobs that are being launched at 10am on Tuesday 22nd June.

When I started selling my BIG mugs in 2018 I had no idea how many I would sell. And that I would have 11 different babies in my mug family. This time we have BIG mugs, normal mugs, tote bags and stickers on offer…and shhhh don’t tell anyone…in a few weeks…travel mugs are being born!

As per usual £1 from each mug will go to the @bham_childrens charity. This time our donation will be going to the Woodland House. A new word has been created. It’s been in all the papers. ‘Cheugy’. You like watching Friends? You are Cheugy. Disney adults? Cheugy. Wear UGGS? Cheugy. I’m 100% Cheugy. I love pumpkin spice latte, autumn and giant scarves. So I’m Basic too. Both of these things are NOT cool.

But you know what IS cool? Liking what you want! Seriously. I LOVE the things I love. Like I LOVE THEM. There are no guilty pleasures in my life. How can a pleasure be guilty? I love pop music. I love reality TV. Eurovision is a highlight of my year!

So if you google Cheugy and some things you actually do (leggings is on the list so I imagine many of us are screwed) embrace the Cheugy! I live by the mantra “it’s cool to be uncool”. It’s that time of the week where I show you a part of my non minimalist house! The bits that fill my heart with joy.

I always wanted a chair that reminded me of the one Aiden made for Carrie in SATC. Transpires they are one bazillion pounds. Who knew? So I picked this new beauty up from Etsy for £99! I love it so much.

My shelves are full of books I love, photos, plants, candles friends have bought me, our wedding cake topper, the first paintings the kids ever did and beautiful bits and bobs from small shops. And of course a touch of Disney.

Four years ago this photo was taken. A mini me in Minnie ears reflected in my glasses. We were walking out of @waltdisneyworld on the last day of our first trip there. A Disney photographer stopped me. And asked if he could take our photo.

It fills my whole heart with joy. To me it symbolises that little snippet in time where your kids are the apples of your eye (where they remain of course). But at the same time they want to be just like you. Mums are always the ones taking the photos. So it was nice to have someone take the photo.

If you’ve got little dots ask people to take as many photos of you as they can. Time goes so fast. One minute you’re sniffing babies. The next you are thinking about secondary school places. Take ALL the photos! That’s an order!

I’ve always felt that I have been ‘too much’

I’ve always felt that I have been ‘too much’. People in the past have said I’m ‘too loud’ ‘too talkative’. So I try to make myself smaller. I can leave certain social situations exhausted and worried that I said the right thing.

Parts of the internet think I’m ‘too big’ ‘too cringe’ ‘too old’. I love what I love with ALL my heart. If I see Mickey Mouse enter a room my eyes fill with tears. When it’s Halloween my house has ‘too many’ pumpkins. I collect ‘too many’ mugs. I am definitely ‘too sensitive’ because I care ‘too much’.

I read a quote yesterday by @luvvie in her book ‘The Fear Fighter Manual’ which said ‘Be the Youest You That Ever Youed’. Recently you may have noticed a slight change. A light in my eyes. A pride in multi coloured mug shelves. The brightest of headbands. A dash of pink hair here. A daft video there.

A 43 1/2 I’m trying to be happy with me. I do talk a lot. I do love mugs and Disney and pumpkins. Making over the top magic for my kids makes me happy. Sad adverts make me cry. I had become ashamed of simply being who I am. Gently you will see more and more of ‘too much’ Emma.

It’s going to take time. Visions of ex boyfriends telling me to “shush” in front of their friends still creep into my head ever so often. But I’m determined to do it.
